Internet's roll in Elections

As we all know Internet has made our lifes much easier. From paying bills , invesments, entertaiment, Information etc... . The WWW was created by the CIA to store and share criticall information about the Soviets during the cold war. Internet has evolved from a helpfull program in CIA's basement to almost every house in America. As for many things the Internet can be helpfull and harmfull in any particullar election. For example the Internet can raise millions of dollars for any candidate. We have seen that to be true with MoveOn.org and how they were able to raise huge sums of money for Sen. Obama. But the Internet can also be harmfull to voters and how they get their information. Unlike TV, the Internet is not regulated in the United States. This can cause major issues for our voters. Thats because anything is avalible at any time Online. Alot of un-true and propoganda can be found on the Web. I am not suggesting that everything on TV is true, but what I am saying is that the Internet has much more information that has been added by regular folks who are not often qualified to do so. An example of that is Wikipedia. So the internet can be helpfull to an candidate but not much for the average voter. So the question still remains; "Where in the media can the voter get UnBias and true information to decide?" Please if you know the answer to this question feel free to comment.

Endorsing

There are many endorsments for presidential candidates. Many, celeberties , Business hot shots, and public offcials have endorst Obama but not that many for Mc Cain. But we have to sperate the endorsments that acctually count and ones that just pickup headlines. the most powerfull endorsment for Obama was Operah. I have not seen any HUGE name American that came out and sepported McCain. And if one did I missed it. Endorsments play a critical roll in this (2008) presidential elections than any other. With many people wanting change in this election.
voters that are not informed as much are looking for their Idol or favorite celeberty to pick an candidate. lets make one thing clear that the voters look at their Favorite rich, cleberty or famous people and fallowing them without purposlly wanting it. Eventhough many people denie fallowing their idol, they acctually do. When Operah (the most influentiall Women) came and endorset Obama in the primaries, Hillary lost many support among the female voters. and the Most recent one was Collin Powel and his endorsment for Obama wich gave obama an boost

Acorn

Sen Obama's ties to Acorn are intresting. Maybe Obama is too good to be true? but doesnt matter what any news agency says or how the Obama's camp views this problem, sen Obama's ties to Acorn are questionble at least. Sen Obama donated 800 000 dollars to Acorn for campaing. when offering people cigarets or A dollar for their vote, Acorn is defently aggresivly campainig for Obama. but lets step back and look at the bottom line that Acorn is under investigation and nothing has been proven yet. I am a centerist and believe that the GOP's election machine is bringin up Acorn as much as they can so they can get voters attention away from the reall issues. But Obama's and the Dems are also have painted McCain as an old elites guy. Some shows (not Obama) even have used McCains experience in vietnam against him. but as we all know the media is 80% bias and liberal and 20% conservative. obama spend 90 million in tv ads last month along with the NBC's bias for him. but the question is if Acron is going to hurt Obama in days to come , with election right around the corner anything is possible right now.

"Palin Effect" on Democrats

Due the "Palin Effect," Democrats now believe their next presidential ticket will have a woman at either the top or bottom of the ticket. Expect Obama to place women in key cabinet positions to build their resumes. Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano is on the list for Attorney General, as is Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius. Others in contention include Obama advisor and Clinton era Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.
Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, who is term limited, is expected to play a role in the Obama Administration after 2009.
Obama's uber surrogate, Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill, will likely stay in the Senate where she can be an important ally to Obama.
White House press secretary will likely go to Robert Gibbs or Linda Douglass, and Obama will tap one of his own people - perhaps campaign manager David Plouffe - to head the DNC.

Obama's presidential saff if elected

Austan Goolsbee, the University of Chicago economist who is expected to head up the Council of Economic Advisors in an Obama White House, is a centrist who supports free trade. Another campaign advisor, Jason Furman - who will likely head the National Economic Council - previously ran a centrist, pro-trade policy research group founded by former Treasury secretary Robert Rubin.
For Treasury Secretary, Obama is expected to look outside his campaign staff. The most frequently floated names are Federal Reserve Bank of New York president Timothy F. Geithner, American Express CEO Ken Chenault and former Clinton Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.
On national security, Obama has sought out advisors who, like him, believe in robust public diplomacy. His two top foreign policy advisors - Tony Lake and Susan Rice - are former Clintonites. Rice is expected to head the National Security Council and Lake is in contention for Secretary of State, along with Gov. Bill Richardson, Sen. John Kerry and GOP Sen. Chuck Hagel.
Obama has preached bipartisanship during his campaign, and many expect him to appoint a few Republicans to cabinet positions. Homeland Security could be headed by Bush critic and former White House counter-terrorism advisor Richard Clarke or GOP Senator Dick Lugar.
At Defense, Obama may keep Secretary Robert Gates on board, though he is said to be considering former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Ret. Gen. Jim Jones and Bill Clinton's Navy Secretary Richard Danzig, who serves as an advisor to the Obama campaign. Some believe California Rep. Jane Harmon could also be considered, but her strained relationship with Nancy Pelosi could make this a nonstarter.

"Media Bias"

For the second time in three days, a major network program has showcased the story of a 106-year-old nun in Rome who is voting for Senator Barack Obama. On Wednesday's Good Morning America reporter Jim Sciutto highlighted Sister Cecilia Gaudette, an elderly woman who has caught "election fever" for the Democrat. The journalist featured Gaudette gushing: "I think he's the man, really. I think so." Although the nun's story of voting for President for the first time since 1952 was touted on the October 12 edition of the CBS Evening News, Sciutto acted as though there was some mystery as for whom the women might vote. "We didn't ask her to reveal who she chose, but she couldn't help telling us," he announced. (Would journalists trek all the way to Rome just to file a report on a nun voting for a conservative candidate, such as John McCain?) And just as with the CBS piece, there was no mention of any possible conflict over a Catholic nun supporting the pro-abortion Obama.

"Debate shootout"

SOS , yes the debate was Same Old Stuff for both candidates. McCain is hurt by the economy crisis and needed to lift himself up last night. But Sen Mc Cain did not tap into the country's anger. Both candidates seemed detached from the American people's suffering. on paper things look bad for John Mc Cain, but as Sen Obama even knows Mc Cain is most dengerous when he is counted out . Just look at the republican primaries where everybody counted Mc Cain out. the winds have sifted Obama's way and there is no doubt about that.
Obama and McCain are conventional politician, but right now we need a fighter for justice not a condiotional political deal maker. hard working Americans are furious. so why aren't Mc Cain and Obama? Maybe the economic crisis caught them by suprise. but they're showing little emotion. The economy will snap back, but in the mean time there will be much suffering. the Candidates need to spotlight people who failed to prevent this mess like Rep. Barney Frank. Obama and McCain are not to blame for the economic crisis, but they must understand America's pain. In 3 weeks, the landscape of America has changed. Obama and McCain need to get in touch.
